As I try very hard to over grease my coach as grease is still less expensive (even 7$ a tube grease) than replacing any thing. I had to remove my grill to get to the slip and the U-joint in the steering shaft. I can't reach these from underneath.
Well, I found a problem...
The U-joint was quite loose on the steering box input shaft. I was able to tighten the pinch bolt enough to make it solid. While I haven't driven the coach except to pull it out of the bay, I can already tell that it is a whole lot better.
This was actually a relief. When I last drove the coach on the way home from Montgomery, I knew there was something amiss in the front end. Mary usually drives in the daylight, so I had not noticed the degradation. I still need to drive the coach just to be certain.
