Guys,
I am using Quaker State Full Synthetic 5W-30 (Green Bottle). At 2000-2500 RPM, 60MPH(+-), 195° thermostat, I am just running 20 to 23 PSI hot. Is that something I should be concerned about or is that more then enough PSI to push the oil through the engine completely?
It could also be a Stewart Warner gauge failure as I have had a few S/W gauge failures with this rebuild. The dash gauge appears to be indicating normal.
Thanks in advance and take care,
Tom K

Larry and Matt,
I read and re-read that thread many time and because of that I went with Larry's oil recommendation on Quaker State.
Several years ago I re-built an AMC 304 V8 for my CJ-5. Those engines suffered oil starvation at high RPM (Racing AMC AMX's). The rear main bearings failed as the oil was feed from front of the engine to rear. By the time the oil got to the rear there was very if any oil pressure. I had to drill out the block and run a stainless line in the valley from the pump to the rear so that the engine was feed both to the front of the crank and to the rear of the crank at the same time. There were other modifications like opening and polishing oil galleries.
Because of this I still worry about lower oil pressure. The old statement of 10 PSI for every thousand RPM has been driven into my head since I was a kid. If you guys say it is ok, I have a high degree of faith in both of you and I will carry on.
Thank you both for the peace of mind and all your help.
Take care and I hope to see you guys in Tennessee,
Tom K.
