I was just looking over my log book and realized that vapor lock was real rare before I replaced the radiator (and a whole lot of other stuff). This was all after the 60MPH into the ditch when the lower control arm failed. We limped her home after that and changed more than a few parts that were either damaged or un-trusted. But ever since, vapor lock has been a bigger issue than it ever was before.
At first, I was willing to blame old gas, but that correlation is not as solid as I might like.
I do have a plan to put a pair of boost pumps down near the tanks, but I wonder if maybe I have missed something along the way.

Matt, the 23' locked and left me on the side of the mountain outside Sylva, NC, and damn near went over the side. I replaced the water pump, all hoses, and recored the stock radiator. Never had a problem after that, she would walk over that hill and MontEagle with the ratrod truck in tow witho0ut breaking a sweat. Note that I always ran the coach on no alcohol gas. My current (injected) coach does the same with gasohol, I only use 'boat gas' when it's going to sit for an extended period. Bone stock with everything working correctly it ought to do OK.

My coach vapor locked (well, not really, it never up and quit, just starved for fuel and limped up the hills) before AND after the aluminum radiator. I don't think that is the root of the problem.

I'm sure you have checked for this, but possibly damage to the fuel lines causing a restriction? At higher temperatures the restriction could make it more difficult for the fuel pump to pull fuel from the tank allowing the fuel to vapourize.
Just my farm-boy mechanic thoughts.
Bruce,
The thought is entirely valid and a similar thought came to me on the way home from another function last night. When I did the rework of the fuel system some years ago, I found an inline filter added by the PO. I did not recall if I removed it or replaced it, but but such a restriction would cause more issue at high loads than low. My problem seems to always bite me at low speeds or loads. It did it yesterday to me while I had her out of the barn to heat up enough to finish filling the cooling system. Idling on the lot, she vapor locked.....
I have the pumps, valves and fittings to put that in and it is the next task on the list, but the faucet in the galley needed attention, so that got pushed back again.
It is interesting that I did not have much of a problem before the aluminum radiator. From the responses so, I think that is just a coincidence.
Thanks
Matt

Justforthehellofit, have you checked the spark? You >might< have a heat sensitive coil or connection in the ignition system. Sitting idling till it warms will et the upper part of the compartment quite hot.

If you pulled it out to fill the coolant, maybe it was running hotter than the gauge represented, because low on coolant.

I installed a canister (ford type) filter before my Carter electric fuel pump. It provides a small, extra fuel reservoir and maybe helps a bit. I also relocated my fuel hoses, pump, filters, etc to the outside of the frame per Jim Kanamota's suggestion. That helped a lot. I have had minimal fuel starvation issues since doing that. I still continue to have vapor lock type issues but only when thoroughly heated up and going up fairly substantial grades.
