Saw one of these sitting on the shelf in my mate's shop yesterday, assuming it would be a freebie so where and how do I connect it to the transmission?

On way is to change to a Ragusa tranny pan that comes with a boss for a temp sender.

Thanks, good suggestion but not gonna do that. I'm trying to do this on the cheap! Don't mind spending time but not my limited dollars.

One of what sitting on the shelf?

I set my trans pan to accept a trans pan sensor. Here is how.

Been using this since 2004.

Then remove the pan and add a bung. You'll need the gauge, a matching sensor, and a place to screw in the sensor (bung).

Thanks Bill, seems like I have to get more stuff if I'm going to do this. Back burner for now.

Depending on your driving i think a tranny gauge is as important as a engine temp gauge if you tow or have to climb any grades.

Pretty easy to install. And not crazy expensive. I bet total cost new for me $70. Auto meter gauge is $56.72. And local auto store had a bung.

The gauge bung doubles as a fluid drain for future.

If i had one prior to my tranny failure i think it could of saved me a few thousand bucks. Had i known how fast my tranny heated up on those hills i might have upgraded the cooler sooner.
