Hi guys,
Looking for some advise on upgrading the mid wheels to disc brakes. I know Dave makes a nice system but was curious what ebrake systems would work with it. If anyone has a similar set up I like to know what you like/dislike etc and if there were any issues with the install.

You can leave the drums on the rear axle and modify the cable to pull only on the rear drums. Or you can put Cadillac calipers in the rear with their parking brake setup in the caliper or you can putchase Lenzi’s hydraulic disc brake setup which adds a small caliper to his disk for a parking brake

When I get my California property taxes paid this year, my next purchase will be Dave Lenzi's mid rear disc brakes with the parking brake setup.

As long as you don't mimic the a$$holes who sleaze up here from the city and then try to make it a city in outlook. Road Atlanta is like half a mile from me. They built this subdivision up the highway a bit. All the inhabitants bitch about the noise from the racetrack. I'm like how stupid can you be to buy a medium high dollar house without cruising the neighborhood? In that they have an HOA, the answer is pretty stupid. Some stop or cruise slowly by when they see my GMC though. I'm walking Duke a few years back, one of these bozos says the HOA only allows 35 pound dogs. I told him he should weigh the boy if he thinks he can get away with it (Duke was a 130 pound Kuvasz boy) and we had Words along the lines of it's a county road, I'll walk it as I please.

What ever you do, get the Full Floating Brakes ( Aka reaction arm), drum or disk, as that is the only thing that will prevent the forward trailing arm from jacking up the coach when you stop.
Nothing else matters

I don't believe reaction arms for the mids are possible with Dave Lenzi's system. Curious what just a reaction arm on the rears would do - if anything.

FWIW, I was looking for better brakes without breaking the bank, and ended up installing a set of high-performance pads from Jim K (awesome pads, BTW), as well as a set of the larger slave cylinders on the middle axles. The theory is that will put proportionally more braking on the middle axles than the rears. All I know is that my coach went from being a white-knuckle driver in traffic to one that'll stop when and where I want it to. Sure, if I'm tailgating a 'vette and he slams on the brakes my Royale is going to have a fiberglass hood ornament, but the coach really does stop impressively well now.

Bill,

If you are not putting the reaction arms on the intermediate, just don't bother with the rest. All they will do is make the flat spots on the rear a little smaller. The "pole vault" of the intermediate will unload the rear enough to make it useless.

Or, that is what my dynamic analysis showed.

Empirically on the 23' and the 26' marked stopping improvement. Would not mess much with one without.

The brake shoes were the part number GM04-METBRASH from Applied (Jim K).

The brake cylinder was the 1-1/16" (vs. stock 15/16") unit, part number GM4-020-12.1

HUGE difference in braking, though I also put in a brake spring / bushing kit and of course cleaned and adjusted everything.
