Buy it. New exhaust less than $100. Control panel rather expensive. Fits 26" GMC gen compartment very nicely.
Easily worth the money. If I did not have two reconditioned ones, I would chase it.

I contacted the seller when it first went up but decided it was too far to drive (4 hrs away). It's a decent deal if it's as-billed. Nationally, I'm seeing EV6010s going for as low as $500 in various condition.

Rebuilts are much more than $500. As I just had two rebuilt by a reputable certified Honda RV mechanic, I can attest that parts are dear. Your local Honda Power Sports Dealer does not have the training or parts to repair these gensets. They were never sold or stocked by Power Sports dealers. One Power Sports dealer said that he could get anything running. Genset stayed in his shop for 6 weeks with an unhappy result. At least he did not charge me but for 2 hours labor.
A running motor is worth the $500, but a replacement Stator is $1000, control panel is $500, starter is $400. Muffler is $80. These are Honda parts prices, not substitutes.
You pays your money, and you take your chances.

Agree 100%, Tom. But I'm buying good, solid core units for $550-ish and had a very-low-hour one delivered to JimB for inspection/purchase for $1k.

You're absolutely right.
When I was refurbing this one, I had the good fortune to talk to Paul at Pinella's Power Products.
his whole business is rebuilding these generators and has a great selection of add-ons for EV's and Honda EU gens-remote starts, long run fuel systems, pairing systems etc.
He has a great series of videos on YouTube on how to diagnose and repair EV Generators. I used them as my bible with the laptop sitting on the shop bench as I went through the diagnostic tree he describes.
He also has some upgraded parts available like Victron seals to replace some crappy O ring seals that are the cause of regular oil leaks on this series.
I can't recommend the guy highly enough, he was quite patient and I sweated my way through reviving the unit.
I also purchased his own design wireless remote start system. Key fob on the coach key ring to start and stop the generator. Cost about $100 less than the hardwired Honda remote system.
I will say the my only complaint at the moment is that the Honda operating sound is more intrusive than the Onan was. There really is something to be said for the 'half-speed,' [1800 vs. 3600 for the Honda] rpm that Onan built in to their design.
Overall, though, it's likely about the best of the modern alternatives without spending some serious lettuce.
