Found two 67 SP cores on our local [Tampa FL] craigslist. I understand these can be used to make a SP TH425.
$200 for both!
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/pts/4307908825.html
Since I am local I can assist with purchase, shipping or hold if someone is interested.
I wouldn't mind having one myself in case I ever have to pull mine. PO had it redone, no issues rt now. So I might pick up one of them and spilt the cost.

Yes, I know. But it is my understanding that you need a switch pitch core to build a switch pitch TH425 as the parts are not otherwise availible.
BTW a correction to the ad in that the seller wants $200 each, but will make a better deal for both. If anyone is interested, hit me up.
Even if I never put the switch pitch in the GMC, it might find its way into another musclecar.

Chris,
I believe Manny can build a TH-425 switch pitch from a non-switch pitch TH-425. Give him a call.

I may be wrong but i think the only parts in a TH400 switch pitch that are useable for a TH425 SP conversion are the torque converter and SP solenoid. The other SP specific parts like the valve body and pump housing are not interchangeable between a TH400 & a TH425.
The torque converter should be overhauled and are hard to find but still obtainable with out a core to exchange. The solenoid is also available as a new part if you look hard enough.
Hardly worth investing in a TH400 SP unless you need one.

Manny, if you build a TH425 can you convert it to swich pitch w/o a TH425 SP core?
If the solenoid and converter are availible then is there any good reason to pick these up?
I may actually have one of your transmissions in my coach now. PO [Slats Schuster] had it replaced 'shipped From a speciallist out west'. I gave him 3 names and he thought it was you. I have a pile of reciepts including the R& R on it [shop in N GA near ATL] but not for the trans itself. Is there any external tag, number or marking that you have to identify it?

Chris,
Since Manny didn't tell you how to tell if you have one of his
transmissions, I will: If all the fasteners are stainless steel, it's
almost certainly a Manny Tranny; he won't use anything else 'cause that's
his trademark.
