Armand M. recently posted a web site for a fuel and oil additive that looked promising. I contacted the manufacturer today and got a lot more info. On the surface it does look legit. I was also able to talk with a diagnostic tech at a large MB dealership who has been experimenting with these products for use with their gas and diesel vehicles which are both experiencing all kinds of problems with the fuels and lubricants now available. This fellow has also been very active in an RV web site trying to find a solution for the Powerstroke diesels that were/are experiencing sooting, overheating, fuel separation and other issues when towing fifth wheels and trailers in high load conditions. He indicated they are seeing relief and good results in both the MB gas and diesel cars as well as the Powerstroke engines in the pickup trucks. I have some of these products on the way and will test them when we head south at the end of the month.
I am not normally big on magic elixirs added to fuels and lubricants but I have seen very positive results with the fuel additives that I commented on when we brought the Clasco back to Oregon from Florida and the science behind these particular products appear to be at least based on some good R&D at a real lab. If the tests are encouraging then I will set up a dealership to purchase for the GMC community if any of you are interested.
