My 2001 Chevy Tracker's Plastic (or something) Black bumpers and fender flairs developed a milky-white appearance almost zebra stripes. I understand that some Jeeps and others have the same problem. Armor All and similar products kept my '92 trackers bumpers looking good but not the newer ones. High-priced Aerospace Protectant 303 didn't even help.

I found out that treating the bumpers with a heat gun will turn them black again. I got a $12 gun from Harbor Freight and it really worked. Get a piece of foil to hold as a heat shield around paint and lights and slowly apply heat to a spot on the bumper in a circular pattern. It is as easy as spray painting - with no prep work. Just be careful to use the heat shield and do not let the tip of the heat gun touch the heated bumper.

I have no idea how long the improvement lasts so time will tell.
Any one else try this?
