Have not read all of this thread but to me, the contacrs in the ignition switch is a bottleneck for current running all of the circuits when including up to as much as 30+ amps drawing throught the compressor of the air ride system. In fact, thre was a bulliten modifying thr feed to the control relay to the computer from the small 10 gauge wire from the engine fuse box to the fuse block for the living area electrical system. It has a 2ga. Cable giving more potential current to the compressor . The compressor will run faster, cooler and thus will last longer. Whenever we install a new compressor, we relocate this power. The control circuit for the system still runs off the engine battery and ignition, only the compressor feed is moved. K feel this is a very important mod,

I should have clarified that it uses the accessory contacts ( the ignition switch has multiple contacts) This set of contacts are only on when the ignition switch is in the run position and not on in the accessory position.

Your right Jim

Getting the compressor load out of the ignition switch is a good thing. I personally use a relay controlled by the existing circuit and a #6 wire from battery and 40 Amp Breaker to my Viaire compressor. Through the load terminals of the relay

In fact the originator of the thread did something similar and wanted to know what would be affected if the breaker was left out and the circuit abandoned. I was explaining the original circuit as a point to begin the discussion

I was suggesting that once the compressor is off of this circuit it could then be used for to power a small fuse block to wire in ignition switched owner accessories, rather than random wires as some owners do.

An unfortunate feature of the forum vs the e-mail is that a correction to the line you quoted was corrected immediately in a second email and corrected on the forum. That quote is From an uncorrected version. This is the corrected version

This set of contacts are only on when the ignition switch is in the run and ACCESSORY position and not on in the START position

Thanks for the additional information and clarification.

Best Regards
