As I was rebuilding my front axles i checked with Napa for a replacement
unit. I would have to interchange the axle. Specs on the Napa shaft was a
27 tooth spline, the GMC's is a 31 tooth spline.

I went looking at some of the pictures and I came across one by Steve and the name of the picture was;

Mannys-front-air-ride
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showing-off/p46644-mannys-front-air-ride.html

Is this an air shock or an air ride system?

Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm.
Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage.
Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.

It is a 1 ton front end with an air shock system Manny built for JimB. It was a one off system, he WILL NOT build another one.

By the way the photograph is from seven where did you find Steve?

Regards,
Rob M.

Golby has recon ones for $ 204 including a $ 100 core charge
http://www.golbymotorcorp.com/parts-catalog/parts-catalog/130/15/chassis/drive-axle/shaft-assembly-reconditioned-GMC%20MOTORHOME%20PARTS.html and that is a pretty good price.

But if a company like Surtrack http://www.surtrack.biz/home can make a direct fit for our GMC's like their GM-8111 for the Toro/Eldo I would be really happy.
First of all they have gone away from the terrible inner boot design (in my eyes that is) and if I did not have to pay the core charge it would be great on my budget (as I live in Norway the return shipping would be higher than the core charge so I am pretty stuck with it)

You can find the GM-8111 on the bay from around $ 80 shipping included http://www.ebay.com/itm/SURTRACK-PERF-AXLES-GM-8111-CV-Half-Shaft-Assembly-New-CV-Axle-Shaft-/231017384099?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&h ash=item35c9b588a3&vxp=mtr

Rob,

I'm not asking for one to build it. I want more info so I might be able to build it myself. I would love to be able to have an air ride system on the back of our Ultravan #520.

As for the Typo = Shoot me for being human and not remembering a name correctly. Laughing LOL Very Happy

Glad you knew what I was talking about. Smile

JimB posted something about that, Tony. Might work for your application

Mark H (the guy with the front air susp) told me that there might be an extra set of air shocks at the Co-op. Call JimB.
