I only use one bottle at a time. Using two allows me to keep the furnace going while I go to fill up the second. A 20 pound bottle last about 2 days when the temp is close -15C (The furnace works pretty good to keep such a poorly insulated space warm but uses a lot of gas). It also has to warm the space from cold because I do not keep the furnace on all night.
I use this setup while working in the Coach ( in the driveway) in the fall and early winter. (Not really that often, but it would be a real problem if I had to move the coach to get gas all the time) Sometimes the coach just is unable to move depending in what work I'm doing.
I also see this type of thing for someone who parked their coach for a long period of time and finds it inconvenient to move the coach for new propane. (Take empty tank when you leave with the toad and bring back more gas)
Process is real easy. And convenient 
1- Open valves to full tank
2- Close valves to empty tank
3- Disconnect empty tank
4- Put Tank in car trunk
5- Furnace is still running keeping rig warm
6- Go buy the stuff I need and pick up more propane
7- Connect new propane bottle to system (keep valves closed)
8- Wait for next tank to empty
9- start Again

My air compressor has those two gages. I can adjust the outgoing pressure to 40 lbs. How would that be different than your system? I can leave the compressor running, it will charge when the pressure drops and the outgoing pressure will be regulated to 40 lbs.

Exactly the same Mickey!! That's also the process I use. Simply make a hose adaptor to connect the regulator output to the coach water inlet. ( I made one to blow out my garden hose, hose reel, and pressure washer in the fall or when cold weather threatens)
My setup simply allows me to use any air source. My compressor in the shop is also not portable, and I usually do my work in the driveway.

In stead of blowing the lines clear, I use a vacuum set-up to remove the water. I adapted a simple A/C vacuum set-up from HF. I attach it to the drain on the hot water heater, set a drain line out the coach, and turn on the air compressor. Opening the water faucets completes the task. Appears to work very well through several Virginia winters.
Probably less use in Lower Alabama.
