Hey All;
I have the Rugusa support for the driver's side mirror. I broke the
mirror today and now need a replacement. The mirror looks like a 70s
or 80s Chevy truck mirror. Anybody know where I can get one (or two)?
These have a chrome like housing. Thanks.

Gary,
I'll try to remember to check the shop tomorrow; I may have one.

Gary,
Advance Auto has a selection of mirror heads...
this one, Part No. RH075 looks similar to the original GMC mirror. About $17 ...

Gary,
I thought to check -- there do not appear to be any Advance Auto in Washington -- but Oriellys cares the mirror, K Source RH075, and shows 80 stores in-state.
Other part stores may have as well..

Gary,
I do have a mirror, but it has a few rust spots around the mounting
ear; and, worse, a couple of 1 sq in or so blemishes, around the
edges, in the silvering. It wil probably fit into a USPS medium flat
rate box (I didn't measure). But, I suspect the $11.35 rate for that
makes it a poor alternative to one of the new ones identified.
It's yours if you want it.

Gary:
My experience is that many of the aftermarket mirror heads, and bases for that matter, are made in China and chromed. I have no idea why Chromed things coming from China rust but they do and I have always been quite disappointed. ( Jim K says they add Chop Suey to the mix).i Your factory head is made from stainless steel and as you can see probably has no or little rust.
May I suggest sticking with one of these three options:
- Accept any used one that comes along
- finding a new Factory head ( they were used for quite a few years and should be easily found)
- If the head itself has not been physically damaged, bring your head to a glass shop ( I've been surprised the number of times they have been able to reglaze these items.)
