I am new here. What is the best source for used parts from donor coaches?

I need a door for the LP gas for a 1978 26 Royale

Several of the GMC vendors have donor parts available, and several individuals are parting out coaches. They will likely respond.

You can also try ebay. Search on "gmc motorhome" to find someone selling parts. This item is in Connecticut, but it is clear he is parting out a GMC motorhome, and probably has other parts for sale, possibly including the propane compartment door. Find someone close to you selling parts like that and ask via eBay's "ask a question" link in he ad.

I'm sure I'm not too young; perhaps that's why I don't remember the music. Give us a clue.

Sergio,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.....

For everybody's benefit, please build a sigfile (Control Panel/Account settings and scroll down, remember to click Update) that has your real name, a short coach description and a geographic reference. This is to help the others here that will want to provide assistance. If it is in the signature then nobody has to hunt it up. While this is all in your early messages, I am certain that there will be many more and this will make it easier for everybody.

Also, there are many that read this site that are not vetted members. So, never post an open @ddress or phone nr. You don't have to do much, just make it not fit the template that spambots use to collect same.

And, by owning a TZE and finding your way here, you are now a part of a community like few others. This group is so much like that of the watermen that are my world, that I like to paraphase that traditional way that a new owner or vessel is welcomed here. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.
Welcome Sergio

Matt

I've never done business with Golby and they're seldom mentioned here. They show new LP and generator door panels on their website as well as some other SMC body parts made using the original GMC molds.

The generator door on my "Money Pit" is badly cracked at the front and needs repair or replacement.

I just went to the Golby site below and WOW, $252 plus "special shipping" for a replacement generator door.

I think I'll just get some sheet aluminum and sandwich the cracked area using stainless machine screws, lock washers, and nuts.

BTW, the last two private prior owners of my coach were in the San Antonio area. It was last in New Braunfels.

If "Money Pit" is living up to her name, $252 is cheap. Seriously though, if a part can't be repaired you could probably find a used one for much less. I just think it's cool that new body parts are being made. Did you check out the video?

$252 sounds pretty cheap for a new oem part for a 40 year old vehicle.
