I posted pictures on blog, on my black tank install.

me and gmcmh photo site are not getting along lately, I will work on getting some things transferred over to that.

only takes me about 3-4 minutes to load to the blog.

Thanks for the pics Jon. That job is in my future sometime (the tank, that is). Those pics will help. It would be good to post them on the GMC photo site as well.

That looks even less fun than I immagined. How do you get all the pipes to connect at the same time before the glue sets?

it really was not that bad of a job. pulled the original tank in less then two hours or so on friday night. put the new tank in saturday afternoon.

I think there is only one fitting that needs to be glued. and that should be the drain/vent on the kitchen side. there was enough flex in that pipe, after tank was installed and secured in place, I pulled the pipe aside, hit it with glue and pushed it into fitting that was mounted on tank.

The shower drain/bathroom drain. I did not glue that one until after the tank was seated. that pipe does not move, and when the tank is in place, it is seated tight. the trick would be to make sure the fitting is at the correct height off the new tank. I just glued the edge where the pipes went together, and I had enough room after i hole sawed the hole out to get around it easily with the glue dobber. however after the fact, I should of taken the old fitting from the original tank, and that has a o-ring inside of it, and I am guessing that is what would seal that pipe and glue would not be needed.

I need to take some pictures of that fitting with the o-ring. I would guess a new oring, and maybe glue the oring in place or something so it does not fall out of place would be the correct procedure.

I did the job alone, so I used a tranny jack on the tank, to help, but it is light and easy to hold up. with the correct fittings already in the tank, it just falls into the correct location.

contact me anytime in the future if someone is tackling this job and wants more exacts as to what i ran into.
