Nope, just added the friction modifier to the existing oil in the gen, trans and power steering pump. When I get back from this trip I will have enough miles on the new engine to change out the oil and then will add this stuff at that time. It ran the first 400 miles on the Joe Gibbs break in oil and is now on dyno oil laced with GM EOS.
The smoother running - if real - I would attribute to the fuel conditioner. The fellow I talked with at the company before we left made a big deal out of what he asserted was a lower ignition point and more complete burn which, according to him, results in smoother running among other things. It is all anecdotal at this point, but so far that seems to be the case with this engine and with this generator.
I have no idea whether or not the friction modifier does anything positive for our flat tappet engines or not. The company only claims it does the job of the now absent ZDDP without harming the cat converter on modern cars and trucks.
Unlike many of these magic elixirs, the base technology in both of these products seem to have been developed in a real lab instead of someone's bath tub or an ad mans conference room. As I said before, only time and real world use in our unique application will tell. All I know at this time is these early results appear promising.

Jerry,
Re the additive, it has been my experience when I change the oil in any vehicle the engine gets quieter. Did you change all the
fluids you added the friction modifier to?
