There seems to be a feel that the GMC vendors charge too much. There's more to it then the raw price. We NEED them as much as they need us. In the open market. Important parts for use are becoming less profitable for the general retailers. I've seen part for some cars that can't be found or bought for any price. I have a piece of equipment that was built in 1974. It's an air compressor that can run a jackhammer, 150 cfm@ 100 lbs delivery. I had the intake/ exh manifold crack. Got lucky and was able to fabricate one. Had the water pump bearing check out once. Had to make a water pump on my own. One of these years I'm going to have a part fail. And that will be the END. I will then have two choices. Lawn ornament, or scrape. Face it. Our GMC's can meet this same fate. That's a FACT. PERIOD. If you don't believe this. I have some swamp land in Texas I'd like to sale you. As to our vendors prices. I have found some parts that they have that are way UNDER what I could buy them
for locally. Some equal, or slightly higher. I look at that slightly higher cost as a TIP for their efforts. Tips are given to show your waitress that you appreciate their extra efforts. It cost the vendors a lot of time, and cash to get use that parts that the local parts stores can't get at ANY PRICE. What's the problem with a tip to our vendors now. I just smile as I write that check out now. Because that's an investment in retaining the future value to our GMC's. And keeping that smile on our face as we travel the road of life. We need to realize the value of the vendors, and the clubs like GMCMI that bring some joy to us, and our families.
