There seems to be a feel that the GMC vendors charge too much. There's more to it then the raw price. We NEED them as much as they need us. In the open market. Important parts for use are becoming less profitable for the general retailers. I've seen part for some cars that can't be found or bought for any price. I have a piece of equipment that was built in 1974. It's an air compressor that can run a jackhammer, 150 cfm@ 100 lbs delivery. I had the intake/ exh manifold crack. Got lucky and was able to fabricate one. Had the water pump bearing check out once. Had to make a water pump on my own. One of these years I'm going to have a part fail. And that will be the END. I will then have two choices. Lawn ornament, or scrape. Face it. Our GMC's can meet this same fate. That's a FACT. PERIOD. If you don't believe this. I have some swamp land in Texas I'd like to sale you. As to our vendors prices. I have found some parts that they have that are way UNDER what I could buy them
for locally. Some equal, or slightly higher. I look at that slightly higher cost as a TIP for their efforts. Tips are given to show your waitress that you appreciate their extra efforts. It cost the vendors a lot of time, and cash to get use that parts that the local parts stores can't get at ANY PRICE. What's the problem with a tip to our vendors now. I just smile as I write that check out now. Because that's an investment in retaining the future value to our GMC's. And keeping that smile on our face as we travel the road of life. We need to realize the value of the vendors, and the clubs like GMCMI that bring some joy to us, and our families.

Actually, I've not found that to be the case.  The stuff I've bought has been reasonable.  They're fairly reasonable on the common stuff too, but shipping is  a problem so I buy filters and such locally.  Now, it is true I can research and buy some thing that >should< work for a bit less until I realize... I bill my time out at $100 an hour.  It doesn't take long to figure I'm losing money here if it takes me an hour to find a comparable shock absorber for $10 less.  And, while it >should< fit, if it doesn't, I'm out more time, hassle, and two sets of shipping costs.  Where else can I buy aluminum wheels which fit?  When you figure it all in, it's at least fair pricing and often a bargain.  F'rinstance, seven hundred scoots for a pair of new torsion bars is most reasonable.  Don't tell the Oriental guy all of this though - he'll jack the prices.

Thats the one main reason I put up the On-Line Parts program..
To have a direct link to the vendors site/location(email) so anyone could order them direct online..
Just have to get it filled out more now...(with a little help from my friends..apology to the Beatles)

Thankx
