Us dealers feel like its a growing virus. Seems like every day more parts drop out. This is why we need to support eachother. Thorley dropped our headers, Jim K. Bought their minimum production run to keep them around for us all and thats just one example. There are many more! Fuel senders, height control valves, relay levers, idler arms, drive shafts, transmission hi speed chains, rear sus pins and the list goes on. Dont get paranpid and hoard parts, support vendors so we can afford to support the community or it will become reality. Its already happened for the Revcon folks. Forget finding many Cortez parts. Get together on this or we WILL be next. This is not just good press, its real. We have worked hard for solutions and we have found some. With continued support we will try and keep up with these issues.

Ill shut up now,

Jim Bounds

>> I'll match that experience, excepting mine's with electronic parts.  We're beginning to see with GMCs what I've been dealing with in transmitters and studio gear for years.  Build a 20 or 30 (or for the GMC 40) year design, and in an era of 'throw-aways' you will have fun finding pieces.  One major manufacturer spec'ed a switch from Switchcraft because it was their most popular line at the time.  His parts department was the only purchaser of the switch when production ceased.  They have backstock because they bought a lot of them when Switchcraft dropped the line.  We're the same way - our suppliers stock up to the degree they can, buit eventually some stuff will be Gone and we're dependant on them for a workable spare.  Fortnately at this point, all the majors have a 'sideline' which allows them to support the GMCs at reasonable prices.  Whic means we probably ought to be buying our clean room stuff from the Oriental Gent, and our
