Here's another link with specs. Pretty darn heavy by today's standards (275 lbs) so it's definitely going to be a permanent install.

David,

Further down the spec's say: Dry Weight (lbs):186 lbs

275-186 = 89 lbs / 6.3 = 14 gallons of gas which you wouldn't need in a GMC.

I did a Google search and came up with this link:

http://www.powerhouse-products.com/powerhouse_product/ph6500ri/

Where I found this: Generator Dimensions 29.5"H x 28"W x 32"D

Obviously this puppy ain't gonna fit in the Onan hole!

The Blue Streak was converted to 240VAC 50HZ by the previous owner, he fitted a 6000W Chinese generator in the Onan hole by removing
the generators gas tank.

I have been to Northern Tools and noted a bunch of generators that you could remove the gas tanks from and fit into the ONAN hole.

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_generators+portable-generators

Keeping in mind that I am electrically challenged why wouldn't one of these work?

Regards,
Rob M.

The Onan ain't light either! But unlike almost all other generators, it runs at 1800 RPM instead of 3600. Big difference in sound output. Got an Onan homepower 6500 to take apart and put in GMC because it had electric start, but it was way too loud to use in there so it lives in the back of the pickup truck now, just waiting for the home power failure. Strange how we've only lost power twice since I got it and it used to go out every time someone sneezed before that...

Don't know about the rpm, but one of these looks like a possible candidate. Already has a remote tank option.
