I am currently in the middle of installing a JC-4 vacuum pump on my coach. I have the 'Car Guy' mount and the plug from Jim K, and I have the vacuum line hookup all figured out. I am somewhat electrically challenged and just want to make sure I am reading the diagrams correctly. On the following slides, the terminal marked 'C' has the letters 'NC' next to it. Am I to assume that means 'not connected'? Also, I want to clarify that 'D' hooks up to a fused (always) hot power source, and 'B' hooks up to an accessory hot source. Correct?

Any clarification would be appreciated. I'm sure to some of you, this is all very simple, but to me it is a challenge.

Thus, my confusion on the issue. I ran all this (including the slides) past a couple of professional mechanics and they weren't familiar with the term 'NC' either. Maybe it is engineer speak. My Dad was an Electrical Engineer, but it didn't rub off on me.

I have one of these but had to unhook it when I changed master cylinder and have not remounted it. Had it hooked to heater switch but that does not work on 74 model. I can hook it up for you but we are a ways apart this month.

Thanks Dan. That helps. I kind of figured that but there are three apparently unused terminals in the plug and only one is marked 'NC'. I guess I can figure it out from here. I have identified a couple of hots I can connect to, and the ground is easy. I think I CAN use the yellow wire on the fan speed control since mine is a '75. I DO wis you were closer, I can always use help with electrical stuff. I tend to think about it WAY too long before I ever take on a wiring project.

It provides vacuum to the brake booster in the event of an engine failure. Just a safety feature that most cars don't have, but deemed necessary by some here on the Net. I'm only putting it on because I got a good deal on it.

We bought the same cruise control as the Rostra at a car show over five years ago.
Sure could use some help.
I have never been able to get it to work.
All the switches are set and the lights blink according to the instructions that came with the control
Would you or some one please send the instructions.

Well, I have now opened up that "page" and see that my original comments below were NOT appropriate/pertinent.
I did, however, preface my comment with "USUALLY" and those comments reflect typical annotation for switches and relays.
In the illustration, "NC" does mean "no connection." The 12V through fuse to "D" is self-explanatory, as is "GND." "ACC" means 12V DC applied through the Accessory terminal of the ignition switch.
Sorry if I added to the confusion.
